Wily Mo Pena had 5 hits at the ballpark as the London Hawk Lords staged a
comeback win over the Chainsaw Proctologists by the count of 10 to 8.
London had the game winning rally in the top of the 9th inning scoring 4
runners on 5 hits. The critical plate appearance was by Carl Crawford who
deflated the mood of the partisan fans when he lined a single scoring two
baserunners. Jorge Julio relieved and was untouched by Chainsaw as he
recorded the save, his 4th.
Jon Rauch(6-3) went 2/3 of an inning allowing 1 run for the victory. Chad
Bradford(1-5) was the losing pitcher in relief. He allowed 4 runs and 5 hits
in 1 inning.
After the game, it took a long while before Rick Graves emerged from his
office. In a subdued tone he answered only a couple of questions. He
concluded with, 'Fellows, sorry I'm not in a very talkative mood this
afternoon, as I think you'll understand. I'm sure you'll find the banter a
lot more light-hearted over in the London locker room.'
